BIOGRAPHIES
Pat Richley-Erickson, a lifetime member of GeneaBloggers, is an author and hostess of Mondays with Myrt. Online since 1986 with Q-Link, then PC-Link and AOL’s genealogy forums, Pat has taught seminars throughout the US, and classes at Family Tree Webinars, FGS, NGS, and RootsTech. She is a retired post-secondary and corporate software instructor. She and her husband live on Guemes Island, WA under the direction of their calculating cat Bella.
Carol Kostakos Petranek serves as a co-director of the Washington, D.C. FamilySearch Center. She is an active member of the Greek genealogy community, teaching at conferences and writing educational articles. Carol served as a genealogy aide at the National Archives in Washington, D.C., for ten years, and has worked with FamilySearch and MyHeritage on several initiatives. She also writes, edits, and publishes personal and family histories. Carol blogs at Spartan-Roots.com, and her work on documenting the history and families of her ancestral village at Agios Ioannis, Sparta, has been accepted as the first project in Greece at the Society of One Place Studies.
Bill Moore began his family history journey in the late 1990s when a great-aunt passed. She had studied the family for many years. Bill received a photocopy of her research. With that starting place, he subscribed to Ancestry and began entering the records in an online tree. Today, Bill is active with his Substack site, Family History with Bill Moore (billmooreny.substack.com). He currently serves as 2nd vice president of the Rochester Genealogical Society and recently joined the panel on Mondays with Myrt. He has written a children’s book, Roby Moore’s Adventure, about his 2nd great granduncle whofought in the Battle at Gettysburg.
Kyla Bayang began researching her ancestors in her early teens and loves genealogy for the opportunity to learn something new every day. After starting her career in Computer Science and later moving into archives, she now serves as a genealogy program librarian, overseeing a digitizing lab, a large genealogy book collection, and local history preservation projects. Kyla encourages everyone to capture ALL the stories, family and individual; and firmly believes in genealogy serendipity—and giving hugs.
Hilary Gadsby is a member of the Society of Genealogists and several family history societies in the United Kingdom. She is a member of the Guild of One Name Studies and regional representative for Mid and North Wales. She is an active member of WikiTree as a Project Coordinator, greeter, mentor and ambassador. Hilary posts on Substack as Gadsby Family History and has two blogs The Gadsby Family Ancestors and Cousins and The Edge of Snowdonia.
