Moving Forward: The Ride Along Collaboration

What would it look like to you? (More questions than answers.)

The RootsTech Ride Along 2026 collaboration between GeneaBloggers and Projectkin was a smashing success, such that we’re planning an enhanced redux in 2027.

But

That got us to wondering WHAT can/should/could our collaboration look like during the coming months before RootsTech 2027?

• Were you an in-person or a virtual attendee?

• What worked for you?

• What could have been improved?

• What did you think about the “Road to RootsTech” pre-conference interviews?

• The RideAlongPartners “Posts” tab content and the RideAlongPartners “Recordings” tab content was curated manually by Barbara at Projectkin ❤️ who attended virtually. AMAZING! I’m not sure how she accomplished this! No sleep? Did she hire her household cat to handle the night shift? Considerations going forward include:

  • Is there an easier way to aggregate posts from multiple social media sites?

  • Where are the majority of your followers?

  • Which social media sites should be included?

New Idea

Are you going to NGS? Is there an opprotunity for a free media booth as GeneaBloggers was able to secure in the RootsTech 2026 “Society” area? If so, we can send one or both of the RideAlong banners used at RootsTech. I personally will not be attending due to current health issues precluding extensive travel.

What about other multi-day genealogy conferences?
